Why Facebook is a great social media platform Facebook since its invention on February 4th, 2004, 16 years ago, has been one of if not the biggest social media platforms all across the world. Having a Facebook account does have its pros and cons, from things like being able to reach out and make new friends all across the world to having probably issues that have had Facebook in the news for years now and where the posts and images on Facebook go. This creates a ton of controversy for the company, which helps them reach out to even more people who haven’t heard or heard of Facebook. Being in the news isn’t always a bad thing for a major business like Facebook. It can produce some positives for their business. They market well also which leads to even further global interest in the social media platform. And also, they have interest from all demographics. They don’t have a targeted demographic, like teens, or elders, or young adults.

Purchases Made By FaceBook

Facebook does well in the emerging companies they purchase or own, which makes them even more profitable. They have bought emerging companies such as the Oculus VR, WhatsApp, and now also one of the biggest social media platforms in the world, along with Facebook, Instagram. Facebook is thought of as a hub that is constantly growing and changing. It has some products that are doing well, some that are growing, some in the works, and others who have died. But Facebook is trying, especially through acquisitions. So far, it has Facebook Home, Instagram, Messenger, and Paper, and Zuckerberg sees WhatsApp and similar buyouts as just another means of expanding Facebook’s multifaceted reach. What this does is it allows them to reach even higher heights than they’ve already climbed, leading to even more purchases of growing companies that they know people will be into and be in love with years from now.

Facebook is the most popular social media network.

Despite recent reports and stats displaying Facebook as a declining social media platform, Facebook is still far and away ahead of everyone when it comes to social media use and its effectiveness as a platform. Facebook still has over 1.4 billion users, and over 900 million of them using Facebook every day. What this shows is that with there still being 900 million using Facebook every day, it shows that Facebook for lots of people still to this day is a go-to platform to go on to check their page, or to see what is trending, or for whatever reason, a person may have, even as other social media platforms like Twitter. Instagram has come on to the scene since Facebook is trying to overtake them. The people still love their Facebook. To add to that, other social media platforms like Twitter and Instagram have a long way to go because of this to catch Facebook.

Facebook truly encompasses all demographics.

Whether you’re trying to reach teens or seniors, you can find them on Facebook. According to Pew, some 72 percent of online American adults use Facebook. Eighty-two percent of online adults ages 18 to 29 use it, 79 percent of those ages 30 to 49 use it, and 64 percent of those ages 50 to 64 use it. Even among Internet users aged 65 and up, nearly half (48 percent) use Facebook. This shows that since Facebook doesn’t have a key demographic and that all demographics love using Facebook, it enhances their impact on a global scale and truly sets them apart from other social media platforms. Other social media platforms have a key demographic they want to reach to get interested in, to become a successful company, and social media platform.

What Facebook could do is truly achieve the ultimate dream goal for a social media platform or company. They found out a way. However, they did it, to reach and be successful in all the demographics, teens, seniors, adults over 30, young adults, everywhere they were successful putting them much further ahead of any other social media platform, and with this still going today, putting them ahead for a long, long time.

Photo sharing in the social media world

Posting photos, Liking, commenting, and re-sharing them seems to be the most popular activity of the most popular people. You know who is popular because their photos and shares show up in your feed the most and vice versa. With Facebook’s acquisition of Instagram, photo sharing is bound to grow. Competition from Pinterest with its popularity is bound to keep Facebook on its toes. With the fascinating and compelling trait Facebook holds, Facebook in line with other social media platforms, it can be used for a multitude of things, if a person wants to post photos online, you can go onto Facebook, if a person wants to type out a statement to put it out to the people, you can go on Facebook. If a person for some reason wants to find out who the most popular is either amongst their friends or most popular in the world, they can look at things like who has the most shares or likes on the photos they post, on Twitter or twitch who has the more followers, things like that can totally impact the level of interest a person may have in social media in this day and age, and Facebook encompasses all of it into one website, one social media platform.

FaceBooks Growth

Facebook has been improving by the day. In the last four years, the number of users has almost doubled. The future is looking very bright for them. More users will show your content to, and advertising will likely keep getting better and cheaper.

In the last year alone, Facebook has launched many new features such as:

  1. Facebook Live Video.
  2. Professional Services.
  3. Facebook at Work.
  4. Improved Search.
  5. Uber/Lyft integration.
  6. Facebook Shopping Tab.
  7. Instant Articles.
  8. Facebook Events.
  9. Non-profit crowdfunding.
  10. Music Stores.

This is a fascinating time for Facebook. Business owners and entrepreneurs should brace themselves and prepare to make these features a significant part of their marketing strategies.

There is no denying that Facebook is here to stay. It’s amazing to think that what started as a simple way to stay in touch with friends has turned into a platform that connects people and brands worldwide. Ears should be open to new developments about how Facebook can help build businesses for the future. To have a company like Facebook, a company that is already immensely popular, to be viewed according to many websites and news networks as a platform that is still growing, that is still reaching out to even larger audiences than they have already reached not only shows the enormous potential that is there with a social media platform like Facebook, but it also shows about how far ahead of Facebook is over every other major social media platform, with Instagram likely to be a faraway second, which Facebook happens to own, making the business enormous considering Facebook owns the two hottest social media platforms out there as of today, 2020.

The ability to give Quick Feedback

In the old days, when businesses wanted to reach out to their customer base for feedback on products or services, they would have to do things like direct-mail voting polls or cold call surveys. Luckily, those days are over, and brands need to look no further than social media.

Facebook makes it easy for businesses to post a question on their status and sit back and watch for the comments.

Time is perhaps the most valuable asset in business. Facebook is great for companies looking to get an impression of their image and product quickly to see what works and what doesn’t without hassle. What this does is that it allows for people who are on Facebook to type out something, or put out an image of something and have people respond and give their take on what they think of it, giving the people for discussion that can either be good or bad, interesting or not, it gives people and businesses, more importantly, to quickly find out what goes well with what they want to do, either for themselves or for the business, leading to either quick success, or quick changes needing to be made if a post or a picture that is uploaded goes wrong for some reason.

It gives off Maximum Visibility at a Minimum Cost.

If you’re planning to launch a business online, you want to build where the people are.

Advertising is comparatively cheaper than on Google. Also, Facebook video views are cheaper than YouTube.

Research shows that consumers spend 90% of their time spent on mobile apps, and Facebook leads the way as the most downloaded platform of the first half of 2016.

Although you shouldn’t spend all your money on Facebook advertising, these numbers are too big to ignore. The future of social media will only become more prominent. For Facebook, what they are doing is by basically having ads be cheaper than all other major websites like Google or YouTube, people will be attracted to that, and it will give off the feeling that when on Facebook, the person has more control over what they want to see, and will more likely be more willing to contribute to Facebook advertising rather than YouTube or Google because of this.
